Obianuju Blossom Ezeokeke

Warning – I am going to litter this post with photos….

Obianuju!
Obianuju!

As I sit in my office writing this, I am playing Duncan Mighty’s Obianuju. I remember when the song first came out. Uju was the first person who heard it, little wonder, and for days after that she wouldn’t let us listen to ANYTHING else! It was annoying in the beginning but then I listened to the song and I actually liked it. So I played it more and she became annoyed too. Uju, you can’t eat your cake and have it even on your birthday. Sorry… hehehehehe.

She is the one who shines like the sun.

Asanwa, asanwa, asanwa baby…

Obianuju is the last girl of the four birthed to Mr. Okechukwu Ezeokeke and his wife, Ifeoma. She was born in the 80s, she’s single, she loves to get on my nerves, she’s into professional make-up and modelling. She is also a bully… she bullies me a lot. She likes to think she can fight but I always win all our battles because I am and always will be stronger. That is not to say Uju is not strong though.

I love Obianuju very much. Some times, she makes me very angry and I feel like I will burst and other times, I cannot contain my love for her. I remember when I loaned money from her to buy the Nokia X2, my heart’s desire then, and I was supposed to pay her a certain amount monthly but after a month, she told me not to bother. I was touched to my bone marrow.

Obianuju is a homebody. She does all the work in the house. Yes, ALL the work – cooking, cleaning, sweeping, arranging etc etc. She is one of those people who can’t stand disorganised environments. By that, I mean our room and parlour. Obinna and I have suffered greatly because we do not leave our shoes in the right place or because we didn’t fold our clothes… *sigh*

(It’s funny but I can’t find a photo of Uju and I. Oh well…)

If you ask any of my siblings, they’d tell you how much Uju means to all of us. She is the most beautiful of us all, no doubt. (Warever biko)

Ada would tell you how Uju is always there to help baby sit Dumebi whenever necessary. I’ve told you my own already. Chichi would tell you how Uju always understood where she was coming from especially when all the other siblings didn’t. Obinna would tell you how Uju always asked if he had eaten and would make him something if he had not.

Without bias, I can tell you that my sister, Uju is in the words of Duncan Mighty, the ‘best quality of wife’. She has her skoin skoins oh but her heart is beautiful and it shows through her skin. I am proud to call her my sister and my friend and I pray that I am able to fulfill God’s intent for putting us together in this world as sisters.
